Job Description

Pay: $20.14 per hour

Location: Waterford, MI

Shift: Monday - Friday 7am - 4pm

We currently have an opening for a forklift driver at our distribution depot in Waterford, MI. Ideal candidates will have previous experience in distribution or transportation, be able to work independently, enjoy customer service, and have high attention to detail.

Position: Forklift Operator will work in collaboration with other forklift operators, truck drivers, and general laborers to achieve performance goals. This individual will work in a team to load and unload vehicles, while safely utilizing forklifts to complete tasks.

Duties/Responsibilities:

• Safely operate forklift to load and unload products from commercial vehicles and put away finished goods.
• Receive and physically inspect products to ensure quality standards.
• Bring consumables to the production areas as needed.
• Maintain equipment in an operating and clean condition at the end of each shift.
• Partner with the yard supervisor to handle discrepancies, malfunctions, and potential issues.
• Wear personal protective equipment in accordance with training guidelines.
• Collaboratively work with team to take on additional duties as needed.

Qualifications

Required Skills/Abilities:

• Excellent communication skills; actively report issues and progress.
• Safety-focused; operate equipment according to safety standards.
• Time management; comfortable with deadlines and goals.

Education and Experience:

• 1+ year(s) experience as a sit-down forklift operator or relevant work.
• Familiarity with forklift operation and safety.
• High School Diploma (preferred).

Additional Information: The physical demands include frequently lifting/moving up to 50 pounds and occasionally up to 80 pounds. Must be able to inspect and monitor machines, move throughout the facility, and perform physical tasks as described. All information will be kept confidential according to EEO guidelines.
