Job summary

Leggett & Platt is seeking personnel to assist with loading and unloading trailers, following loading diagrams and instructions from the Shipping Lead. The role requires coordination with shippers to ensure efficient operations and quick resolution of count discrepancies.

You will be responsible for safely operating a forklift, keeping areas clean, reporting damaged shipments, and adhering to ISO9001 and continuous improvement processes.

Qualifications

• Follow loading diagram and instructions to identify products, roll amounts and loading order.
• Practice safe forklift operation and follow unloading procedures.

Responsibilities

• Able to follow loading diagram and instructions from Shipping Lead to accurately identify products, roll amounts, and loading order to complete the loading of a truck.
• Work well with fellow shippers to ensure efficient loading of trailers.
• Resolves count discrepancies with Shipping Lead.
• Alert supervisor of potentially unsafe work conditions.
• Performs other duties as instructed by Shipping Lead.
• Unload and properly store raw materials and supplies in their designated area.
• Alert Shipping Lead of any damaged or under/over shipment of raw materials or supplies.
• Follow safe loading and unloading procedures while operating a forklift.
• Fill out daily forklift checklist and report any forklift performance issues.
• Report poor inbound/outbound trailer conditions to Shipping Lead.
• Keeps work area clean and free of safety hazards.
• Commitment to ISO9001 and Continuous Improvement
• Identify and/or record any problems relating to the product, process and the quality system
• Control further processing, delivery, or installation of nonconforming product until the deficiency or unsatisfactory condition has been corrected
