Job summary

Staffmark in Tolleson, AZ is hiring a Forklift Operator. The role requires a minimum of 6 months’ stand-up forklift experience, with preferred warehouse background and the ability to work in a fast-paced environment.

Pay is $21.50 per hour with Sunday–Friday shifts and start times ranging from 5:00 PM to 9:00 PM, continuing until work is completed. Benefits, safety training, and opportunities for advancement are offered.

Responsibilities

• Complete and document daily forklift inspections before each shift.
• Operate stand-up forklifts, pallet jacks, and other material handling equipment.
• Load and unload trailers safely and efficiently.
• Inspect, count, and reconcile incoming and outgoing product.
• Stage, palletize, and put away inventory throughout the warehouse.
• Assemble shipping containers and package products for shipment.
• Verify outgoing shipments meet company specifications.
• Perform general warehouse labor when not operating equipment.
• Support shipping and receiving operations as needed.

Education Requirements

• High school diploma or GED preferred.
• Previous warehouse training or powered industrial truck training is beneficial.

Experience Requirements

• Minimum 6 months of recent stand-up forklift experience
• Distribution warehouse experience preferred
• Previous sorting or mail processing experience is a plus
• Ability to work in a fast-paced warehouse environment

Job Duties

• Complete and document daily forklift inspections before each shift
• Report maintenance issues and submit work orders as needed
• Operate stand-up forklifts, pallet jacks, and other material handling equipment
• Load and unload trailers safely and efficiently
• Inspect, count, and reconcile incoming and outgoing product
• Stage, palletize, and put away inventory throughout the warehouse
• Assemble shipping containers and package products for shipment
• Verify outgoing shipments meet company specifications
• Perform general warehouse labor when not operating equipment
• Support shipping and receiving operations as needed
• Assist with mail processing and sorting activities

Preferred Qualifications

• Previous experience in warehouse, distribution, logistics, manufacturing, or shipping and receiving is preferred.
• Current forklift certification or experience operating multiple classes of powered industrial equipment is beneficial.
• Experience using RF scanners, warehouse management systems (WMS), or inventory software is considered an asset.
• Individuals who demonstrate safe operating practices, teamwork, reliability, and productivity are well positioned for success as a Forklift Operator.

Physical Capabilities

• Ability to sit, stand, walk, bend, and climb on and off powered industrial equipment throughout the shift.
• Ability to lift, move, or reposition materials weighing up to 50 pounds when required.
• Ability to safely operate forklifts in busy warehouse and manufacturing environments.
• Ability to maintain awareness of surrounding personnel, equipment, and inventory while operating powered industrial vehicles.
