This position works out of our Sturgis, MI location in the Abbott Nutrition division. Our Nutrition business develops science-based nutrition products for people of all ages, from helping babies and children grow to keeping adult bodies strong and active. WHAT YOU'LL DO:

  • Material supply to production areas and related activities
  • Incoming material receipt and storage
  • GMP cleaning
  • Other duties as assigned by leadership

Major Responsibilities:

  • Supply materials in a timely manner to the customer
  • Assist in the unloading of various materials
  • Effectively utilize the MITS (Material Inventory Tracking System) to locate and deliver items based on FEFO (First Expiration, First Out)
  • Effectively utilize MITS to accurately scan materials when moved – materials are in the location they are scanned to
  • Must be able to read a production schedule and use to anticipate the needs of the customer
  • Drive a fork lift safely and effectively, moving a variety of load types, using various storage methods (stacking, drive-in racks, push back racks, etc) without damage to material or facility
  • Understand and adhere to all storage requirements including allergen, plastics, oils, etc.
  • Ability to work OT during the week and on weekends

WHAT YOU'LL BRING

High School Diploma/GED required

Background:

  • Prior fork lift experience or the ability to quickly learn the skill
  • Work in a fast-paced production environment ideal
  • Good communication skills
  • Safety a priority
  • Understanding of cGMP’s (current good manufacturing practices)
  • Flexibility in thinking and duties
  • Ability to self-direct work
  • Ability to multi-task

Accountability/Scope/Budget:

Material Control is responsible for the total material function at the Sturgis plant including planning and procurement, receiving, storage of all inbound items and their movement through the plant; production line support; production scheduling andfinished product storage.

The base pay for this position is

$18.65 – $37.35/hour

In specific locations, the pay range may vary from the range posted.
