The Equipment Operator is responsible for the safe and efficient operation of all equipment used in the Material Recovery Facility (MRF) for transferring, sorting, and/or baling recycled materials. This includes operating multiple types of equipment such as forklifts, skid steers, recycling balers, and payloaders/excavators.
Apprentice: Understands recycling processes, completes safety training, and exhibits understanding of policies and values.
Operator I: Operates equipment safely, completes safety checks, and demonstrates ability to operate multiple pieces of equipment.
Operator II: Develops communication skills, understands material acceptability, can operate three types of equipment, and works toward hoisting license.
Lead Operator: Fully understands recycling processes, operates all equipment, interacts effectively with stakeholders, trains others, and holds relevant hoisting licenses.
Must be at least 18, able to work in various weather conditions, legally eligible to work in the US, with a team-oriented attitude, safety commitment, and good communication skills. Prior heavy equipment experience and certifications are preferred but not required.
