Job summary

Chewy is hiring a Forklift Operator for our Sparks, NV fulfillment center in a full-time capacity. The role operates Powered Industrial Trucks (PIT), loads/unloads trailers, and prepares shipments while ensuring accuracy and safety.

Qualifications

• Must be at least 18 years old.
• Ability to read, write, and speak English to understand safety procedures and work instructions.
• Understand and adhere to safety guidelines and procedures.
• Willing to be trained on PIT equipment such as Reach Truck, Order Pick, Dock Stocker, Turret Truck, Double Walkie Rider, Walkie Stacker, Movexx/Amigo.

Responsibilities

• Labeling, replenishing, box making, loading/unloading trailers, moving stock using a forklift.
• Fulfilling and coordinating orders to ensure efficient and accurate customer delivery.
• Crafting accurate shipping documentation for domestic shipments.
• Operate Powered Industrial Trucks (PIT) safely to receive or transport product to storage and staging locations.

What you’ll do:

• Labeling, replenishing, box making, loading/unloading trailers, moving stowed product to various locations using a Forklift, etc.
• Fulfilling and coordinating orders to ensure customer delivery process is efficient and accurate.
• Crafting accurate shipping documentation for domestic shipments.
• Safely and efficiently operating Powered Industrial Trucks (PIT) and material handling equipment to receive or transport product to storage and staging locations.

What you’ll need:

• Must be at least 18 years old.
• This role requires the ability to read, write, and speak English in order to understand and follow safety procedures, interpret work instructions, complete required documentation, and communicate effectively with team members.
• Understand and adhere to our safety guidelines and procedures.
• Willing to be trained on PIT equipment e.g., Reach Truck, Order Pick, Dock Stocker, Turret Truck, Double Walkie Rider, Walkie Stacker, Movexx/Amigo.

Physical job requirements:

• Walk up to 2 miles per shift.
• Frequently lift up to 50 pounds.
• Frequently lift up to 70 pounds using an optional team lift.
• Rarely lift greater than 70+ pounds using a team lift.
• Stand, push, pull, carry, squat, and kneel.
• Climb up and down stairs (where applicable).
