Job summary

Sibelco, located in Seattle, is seeking a Forklift Operator to support material handling and warehouse operations on-site. You will operate forklifts and pallet jacks, perform safety checks, and assist with loading, unloading, and staging of materials in a dusty, noisy environment.

The role requires completing on-site training, adhering to safety policies, and participating in basic plant maintenance. Physical work and strict PPE use are part of daily tasks.

Qualifications

• Must successfully complete training including Sibelco safety standards and driving ability.
• Operate forklift using safe practices.
• Inspect forklift prior to shift and report issues.
• Use compressed air to clean radiator and air filters at end of shift.
• Fuel forklift safely and per procedures.

Responsibilities

• Load and unload trucks with material.
• Track load counts per material processed.
• Move material to bunkers or staging area.
• Assist plant maintenance and repairs.
• Report incidents to shift supervisor and plant management.
• Identify cross contamination risks in storage areas.
• Identify environmental hazards and report to supervision.
• Perform housekeeping duties as assigned.
• Wear site-specific PPE as required.

Together, we can shape the future.Job Description:Your Impact in This RoleAs a Forklift, your responsibilities will include but are not limited to:Must successfully complete training that includes Sibelco safety standards and a demonstration of driving ability.Operate forklift using safe practices.Inspect forklift prior to shift start and report items that need to be addressed.Use compressed air at the end of each shift to blow out/clean radiator and air filters.Fuel forklift using safe practices.Load and unload trucks with material.Track load count per material processed.Move material to assigned bunkers or staging area.Assist in conducting plant maintenance and repairs.Report incidents/accidents/near miss to shift supervisor and Plant Management and participate in safety investigations related to vehicle operations.Identify any possible cross contamination issues in storage areas.Identify and report to the shift supervisor and Plant Management any potential environmental hazards such as - odors, litter, excessive bird presence, vermin or leachate emanating from storage and other areas of the yard.Performs housekeeping duties as assigned.Wear appropriate site specific personal protective equipment (PPE), as required.Understand and adhere to all company operating procedures and company safety policies.Any other related duties, as assigned by their supervisor.Qualifications and RequirementsTo perform the job successfully, an individual should demonstrate the following.Forklift*Electric Pallet Jack*Hand Operated Pallet Jack*Other heavy machinery as required* Glass processing knowledge, preferred.Understand and follow specific oral instructions.*The ability to complete additional on-site training will be required before these vehicles can be used at an Sibelco facility.REQUIRED SKILLS/ABILITIES: To perform this job successfully, the individual must be able to perform each essential duty satisfactorily.
