Job summary

Amcor is seeking a reliable forklift operator at our Indiana facility to load and unload shipments, maintain accurate inventory records, and support safe, compliant operations.

The role requires a high school diploma or GED, an internal forklift certificate, and the ability to lift 65 pounds; familiarity with GMP/ISO/FDA standards is important. Training and benefits provided.

Qualifications

• Must be able to read and interpret safety rules and operating instructions.
• High school diploma or GED required; forklift certificate required.
• Ability to perform basic math and measurements.
• Experience with inventory records and physical inventories preferred.

Responsibilities

• Operate forklifts to load and unload shipments.
• Complete paperwork for shipping and receiving.
• Maintain inventory records via physical inventories and DC Links.
• Assist other departments as needed.
• Perform daily forklift maintenance checks.
• Follow plant safety rules and GMP/ISO/FDA standards.

Job description

Summary: The following details are the expectations of a forklift operator.

• Transport, load and unload product for shipment
• Pass a written driving test.

Essential Duties and Responsibilities include the following. Other duties may be assigned.

• Operate forklifts to load and unload shipments of product
• Complete all necessary paperwork associated with the shipping and receiving of product
• Assist in the maintaining of accurate inventory records by means of physical inventories and use of the "DC Links"
• Assist other departments when an operator is needed
• Perform daily maintenance checks on forklifts
• Follow all Plant Safety rules
• Follow all Good Manufacturing Practices, ISO, SQF and FDA requirements

Supervisory Responsibilities:

Qualifications:

Education and/or Experience:

High school diploma or general education degree (GED); one year related experience and/or training; or equivalent combination of education and experience. Requires Forklift Operator Certificate (Landis Plastics internal training).

Language Skills:

Ability to read and interpret documents such as safety rules, operating and maintenance instructions, and procedure manuals.

Mathematical Skills:

Ability to add, subtract, multiply and divide in all units of measure, using whole numbers, common fractions, and decimals.

Reasoning Ability:

Ability to apply common sense understanding to carry out instructions furnished in written, oral or diagram form. Ability to deal with problems involving several concrete variables.
