Job summary

Amcor is seeking a Warehouse Material Handler/Forklift Operator/CDL driver to pick, load, stage, and move product within the warehouse, and to operate yard trucks and over-the-road trailers between locations. The role requires lifting, driving forklifts and turret trucks, and ensuring safety and efficiency in daily operations.

Qualified candidates will have a High School diploma or GED, a CDL license, and at least 1 year of over-the-road experience plus 6 months in shipping/warehouse settings.

  • Ability to operate forklift and turret trucks safely.
  • Must follow safety policies and procedures.

Responsibilities

  • Move product from staging area to designated area within the warehouse.
  • Operate forklift/turret trucks and yard trailers as required.
  • Load racks with finished goods and load trailers for shipment.
  • Conduct safety checks before each shift and maintain housekeeping.

Job Description

The Warehouse Material Handler/Forklift Operator/CDL driver is responsible to Pick loads, load trailers, stage product for pickup, pull product, move product with lift truck/turret truck within the warehouse. Drive yard trucks and over-over-the road semi-tractor trailer trucks between warehouse locations.

  • Moves product from staging area to designated area within the warehouse
  • Drives lift truck/turret trucks or yard trailers trucks as required
  • Maintains row tags for material staged on the floor
  • Works overtime when required
  • Operates the forklift to move materials to the lines as needed
  • Inspects all pallets for accuracy in regards to weight and correct
  • Loads racks in warehouse with finished goods
  • Maintains proper housekeeping while performing duties
  • Required to assist wherever needed
  • Responsible for operating the forklift in a safe manner at all times
  • Performs safety check before using forklift or truck each shift
  • Adheres to Attendance guidelines
  • Follows all company policies, procedures and safety guidelines

Essential Physical Requirements
  • Sitting to drive a truck as required as much as 100% of workday
  • Standing and walking for as much as 70% of workday
  • Reaching with hands and arms for as much as 75% of workday
  • Climbing or balancing for as much as 25% of workday
  • Kneeling, stooping, crouching or crawling for as much as 10% of workday
  • Bending, twisting, reaching and leaning for as much as 100% of workday
  • Talking to communicate with direct reports for as much as 100% of workday
  • Hearing to communicate with direct reports for as much as 100% of workday
  • Using arms to grasp, handle and type for as much as 75% of workday
  • The employee in this job is required to exert 60 pounds of force occasionally (less than 1/3 of time); and/or up to 40 pounds of force occasionally (less than 1/3); and/or up to 30 pounds of force regularly (more than 2/3 of the total time)
Education

High school diploma or equivalent (GED) preferred. CDL License required.

Experience

Minimum 1 year overl-the-road experience. Six months in a shipping / warehouse environment

Special Skills
  • Understand methods of shipping/loading requirements, weight requirements, and customers’ special instructions
  • Must be detail oriented
  • Good math skills a plus
