Job summary

Amcor in Richmond, Indiana seeks a dependable forklift operator to load, unload and move product within the facility, coordinating with shipping teams.

Requirements: high school diploma or GED, one year related experience, and a forklift operator certificate; ability to read safety rules and procedures; accurate shipping documentation.

Responsibilities include daily forklift checks, inventory updates, and adhering to GMP, ISO, SQF and FDA requirements while maintaining a safe workplace.

  • Forklift Operator Certificate (internal training) required.
  • Ability to read and interpret safety rules, operating and maintenance instructions.

Responsibilities

  • Operate forklifts to load and unload shipments of product.

  • Assist in maintaining accurate inventory records via physical inventories and DC Links.
  • Assist other departments when needed.
  • Perform daily forklift maintenance checks.

Essential Duties and Responsibilities

Other duties may be assigned.

  • Operate forklifts to load and unload shipments of product
  • Complete all necessary paperwork associated with the shipping and receiving of product
  • Assist in the maintaining of accurate inventory records by means of physical inventories and use of the "DC Links"
  • Assist other departments when an operator is needed
  • Perform daily maintenance checks on forklifts
  • Follow all Plant Safety rules
  • Follow all Good Manufacturing Practices, ISO, SQF and FDA requirements

Education And/or Experience

High school diploma or general education degree (GED); one year related experience and/or training; or equivalent combination of education and experience. Requires Forklift Operator Certificate (Landis Plastics internal training).

Language Skills

Ability to read and interpret documents such as safety rules, operating and maintenance instructions, and procedure manuals.

Mathematical Skills

Ability to add, subtract, multiply and divide in all units of measure, using whole numbers, common fractions, and decimals.

Reasoning Ability

Ability to apply common sense understanding to carry out instructions furnished in written, oral or diagram form. Ability to deal with problems involving several concrete variables.
