Job summary

Triad Metals International in Petersburg, Virginia is hiring an Industrial Forklift Operator. The role supports loading/unloading, transporting, and organizing materials across the facility and yard, with emphasis on safety and inventory integrity.

The candidate will operate sit-down forklifts, read measurement tools, and perform basic maintenance. A forklift certification is required and will be provided by the company. This is a full-time position with comprehensive benefits.

Qualifications

• High School Diploma or equivalent is preferred.
• Proven experience as a forklift operator.
• Ability to operate sit-down forklifts with large loads.
• Forklift certification will be provided by trainer and is required of all warehouse employees.
• Strong attention to detail.
• Basic mathematical skills.
• Knowledge of industrial equipment.
• Ability to read a tape measure.
• Ability to lift up to 50 lbs.

Responsibilities

• Load and unload inbound and outbound goods.
• Transport goods within the facility.
• Load/unload material from flatbed trucks; maintain correct locations and perform routine forklift maintenance.
• Optimize travel throughout the warehouse and yard to improve efficiency.
• Inspect material handling equipment for damage and schedule maintenance or repairs.
• Manage inventory with accurate data collection to ensure inventory integrity.
• Adhere to safety standards and maintain a safe, orderly, and clean environment.
• Perform basic housekeeping to keep work areas debris-free.
• Follow procedures for reporting overages, shortages, and damages.
• Perform other duties as needed.

Industrial Forklift Operator

Established in 1987, Triad Metals International is a privately held, independent company that has grown to become one of the premier distributors of structural steel, tubing, piling, and plate products. We are looking to hire a Forklift Operator to join our team in Petersburg, Virginia!

Successful Candidates will be expected to:

• Load and unload, inbound and outbound goods
• Transport goods within the facility
• Load/unload material from flatbed trucks. Maintaining correct locations for materials. Performing regular operator machine maintenance on forklifts.
• Optimize travel throughout the warehouse and yard to ensure operational efficiency
• Inspect material handling equipment for damage and schedule maintenance or repairs
• Manage inventory, keeping accurate data collection to ensure inventory integrity
• Adhere to safety standards, maintaining a safe, orderly, and clean environment
• Perform basic housekeeping to ensure all work areas are free of debris
• Follow procedures for reporting overages, shortages, and damages
• Perform other duties as needed.

Qualifications/Required Experience:

• High School Diploma or equivalent is preferred
• Proven experience as a forklift operator
• Ability to operate both large and medium sized sit-down fork trucks with large loads.
