Job summary

Crate and Barrel is seeking a Forklift Operator to support our distribution center operations. You will use forklifts and related equipment to move furniture and houseware safely and efficiently, ensuring accurate placement and order readiness.

Ideal candidates bring at least 1 year of power equipment experience, a focus on safety, and the ability to work well in a team. Training and ongoing development are offered to help you grow with our fast-paced logistics team.

Responsibilities

• Uses materials handling equipment to stock, retrieve, lift, carry, move, and position merchandise throughout the warehouse.
• Operate forklifts, reach trucks, and stockers safely to protect merchandise and facilities.
• Perform safety checks on lifts and report damage before and after shifts.
• Maintain accurate inventory and report discrepancies.
• Conduct routine equipment servicing and checks (battery, fuel, safety).
• Clean up and dispose packaging and maintain housekeeping of facility and product line areas.
• Rotate through departments to meet business demands.
• Participate in training on technology upgrades and new systems.
• Complete tasks assigned by leadership to meet daily productivity and quality goals.

As a vital member of our team, the Forklift Operator plays a crucial role in the efficient movement of furniture and/or houseware products. You'll expertly utilize material handling equipment (including forklifts, reach trucks, and stock pickers) to stock, retrieve, lift, carry, move, and precisely position merchandise throughout our dynamic distribution center. A day in the life as a Forklift Operator...

• Uses materials handling equipment to stock, retrieve, lift, carry, move, and position merchandise or materials stored on various levels throughout the warehouse/crossdock
• Responsible for the safe operation of equipment to ensure no damage to merchandise, equipment, or facilities
• Performs safety checks on lifts, reporting any damage prior to start and end of shift
• Maintains accurate inventory and reports any discrepancies
• Performs all routine equipment servicing including, but not limited to attaching a battery charger, replenishing fuel, and checking for safety of operations
• Cleans up and disposes boxes, packing material, and pallets, as well as general housekeeping of facility and specific product line areas
• Rotates through different departments, as necessary, to meet the demands of the business
• Participates in ongoing training regarding technology upgrades and new systems applicable to the position
• Performs all job tasks assigned by the leadership staff to achieve and maintain daily productivity and quality goals
