Job summary

Crate and Barrel in Northern Kentucky is seeking a Forklift Operator to move furniture and houseware in our distribution center. You will use forklifts, reach trucks, and stock pickers to stock, retrieve, and position merchandise with safety and accuracy.

Candidates should have 1+ year operating power industrial equipment, basic English, teamwork, good communication, and attention to detail. Daily duties include safety checks, inventory accuracy, and housekeeping.

Responsibilities

• Operate forklifts, reach trucks, and stock pickers to stock, retrieve, lift, carry, move and position merchandise.
• Ensure safe operation to prevent damage to merchandise, equipment or facilities.
• Perform safety checks on lifts and report any damage before and after shifts.
• Maintain accurate inventory and report discrepancies.
• Clean up and manage pallets, packing materials and general housekeeping of the facility.
• Rotate through departments as needed to meet business demands.
• Participate in ongoing training regarding technology upgrades and new systems.
• Complete all tasks to achieve daily productivity and quality goals.

As a vital member of our team, the Forklift Operator plays a crucial role in the efficient movement of furniture and/or houseware products. You'll expertly utilize material handling equipment (including forklifts, reach trucks, and stock pickers) to stock, retrieve, lift, carry, move, and precisely position merchandise throughout our dynamic distribution center. A day in the life as a Forklift Operator...

• Uses materials handling equipment to stock, retrieve, lift, carry, move, and position merchandise or materials stored on various levels throughout the warehouse/crossdock
• Responsible for the safe operation of equipment to ensure no damage to merchandise, equipment, or facilities
• Performs safety checks on lifts, reporting any damage prior to start and end of shift
• Maintains accurate inventory and reports any discrepancies
• Performs all routine equipment servicing including, but not limited to attaching a battery charger, replenishing fuel, and checking for safety of operations
• Cleans up and disposes boxes, packing material, and pallets, as well as general housekeeping of facility and specific product line areas
• Rotates through different departments, as necessary, to meet the demands of the business
• Participates in ongoing training regarding technology upgrades and new systems applicable to the position
• Performs all job tasks assigned by the leadership staff to achieve and maintain daily productivity and quality goals
