Overview

The Forklift Operator is responsible for operating material handling equipment to move, locate, relocate, stack, and count merchandise. The Operator ensures the safe and efficient operation of forklifts and may perform order filler or checker duties as needed. This position involves operating sit-down and/or clamp forklift equipment.

Responsibilities

• Stack and store merchandise using forklift, clamp, push-pull equipment
• Unload inbound shipments safely and move products to storage
• Pull and prepare products for shipment
• Ensure accurate loading and shipping of products
• Perform picking duties efficiently to meet customer standards
• Move products into trailers from staging or storage areas
• Operate equipment safely following work protocols
• Maintain records for inventory control and security
• Assist with physical inventories and cycle counts
• Ensure proper stock rotation
• Possess Excel and general computer skills
• Understand basic safety procedures for equipment operation
• Report safety concerns promptly
• Report inventory discrepancies and assist in resolution
• Complete inspection forms before operating equipment
• Use RF scanning equipment to ensure inventory accuracy

Qualifications

• High School Diploma/GED preferred
• At least 3 months of forklift or warehouse equipment experience
• Ability to stand/walk for 10-12 hours
• Lift or pull 50 lbs without restriction
• Regular bending, lifting, stretching, reaching
• Ability to work in variable noise, lighting, and temperature conditions
• Flexibility to work irregular hours, nights, weekends, holidays
• Ability to obtain NFI forklift certification
• Attention to detail, customer service, basic math skills
