Job summary

Georgia-Pacific is now hiring a Forklift Operator to join our Corrugated facility in Kansas City, MO. Our forklift operators will operate a sit-down forklift to load and unload trailers while keeping accurate shipment records.

Shift flexibility is required; we are currently hiring for 2nd and 3rd shifts, with orientation on day shift before shift assignment. Compensation includes hourly base plus shift differentials and room to grow with plant performance.

Qualifications

• Six months of sit-down forklift experience in industrial/manufacturing environment.
• Experience using a computer, tablet, or scan gun for documentation and record-keeping.

Responsibilities

• Safely operate a 10,000 lb sit-down forklift to load and unload trailers.
• Ensure loads are properly secured and in good condition.
• Maintain accurate inbound/outbound shipment records.
• Follow all plant safety and environmental guidelines, policies and procedures.
• Perform general housekeeping to keep areas safe and clean.
• Pull whip and raw material for production support.
• Verify receipts, load sheets, and other required paperwork.
• Perform tasks that involve lifting, walking, climbing, stooping, standing, pushing, and pulling for at least 8 hours daily.

Salary

• $23.96 per hour

Shift

• Only candidates who are flexible and available to work any shift will be considered. This will include overtime, holidays, and weekends as needed.
• Currently hiring for 2nd and 3rd shift.
• The first two (2) weeks of orientation will be on day shift, then you will be assigned your 2nd OR 3rd shift after your orientation.

Shift Hours

• 1st Shift: 7:00 AM - 3:00 PM
• 2nd Shift: 3:00 PM - 11:00 PM
• 3rd Shift: 11:00 PM - 7:00 AM (Starts Monday night)
• Overtime, holidays, and weekends as needed.

Who You Are (Basic Qualifications)

• Minimum of six (6) months of sit-down forklift experience in an industrial or manufacturing environment
• Experience using a computer, tablet, or scan gun for documentation and/or record-keeping functions.

What Will Put You Ahead

• One year or more of sit-down forklift experience in an industrial or manufacturing environment
• Experience working in the corrugated packaging industry.
