Job summary

Texas Pipe & Supply in Houston is seeking an experienced warehouse worker to support shipping and receiving operations and ensure accurate merchandise intake.

The ideal candidate has 3-5 years of warehouse experience, 3+ years of forklift operation, and handles carbon and stainless steel pipe (20' and 40'). You must pass a background check and drug test and be available for 40 hours per week while adhering to all safety rules.

Responsibilities

• Assist shipping and receiving unloading trucks and checking in merchandise.
• Sort and place material or items on racks, shelves or in bins according to organizational standards.
• Maintains safe and clean work environment by keeping shelves, pallet area, and workstations neat; sweep, dust and mop. Organize warehouse and work area for orderliness at all times.
• Wear the proper safety equipment at all times.
• Any other duties as requested by respective supervisor and/or manager.

• Excellent work ethic: ability to work self-directed and as a flexible team player
• Ensure all safety rules are strictly observed
• Qualified applicants must be able to pass a background check and drug test

PHYSICAL REQUIREMENTS:

• Regularly required to use hands to finger, handle or feel, reach with hands and arms and talk or hear
• Regularly lift and/or move objects 10-50 lbs. Occasionally lift and/or move objects that weigh more than 100 lbs. (with the proper lifting equipment)
• Frequently required to stand, walk, stoop, kneel, crouch or crawl
• Occasionally required to sit and climb or balance
• Specific vision abilities required for this job include close vision, distance vision, color vision, peripheral vision, depth perception and ability to adjust and focus.
