Job summary

Y-Axis in Hickory, NC is seeking a Full Time Forklift Operator for the First Shift. The position requires a High School Diploma or Equivalent and does not involve travel. Operate powered industrial trucks to load/unload materials, inspect equipment, and move goods between storage areas and machines.

The role requires forklift certification per OSHA standards and the ability to lift up to 100 pounds. Maintain production records, comply with safety and quality standards, and assist with scheduling

Qualifications

• Manufacturing experience in the corrugated industry preferred.
• Able to read and follow instructions on factory masters.
• Knowledge of various material-handling equipment an asset.
• Prior work experience as a forklift operator preferred.
• Knowledge of product quality specifications
• Knowledge equipment design and capabilities that can be translated into efficient operation.
• Maintain a clean and safe environment
• Forklift certification per OSHA standards.

ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES Operation and care of forklift in a safe manner. Must be qualified to properly operate the forklift. Complete and document a forklift inspection form before start of shift and when operating a new forklift and turn in maintenance work orders to supervision for needed repairs. Locate stock before the start of the run. Deliver appropriate stock to appropriate machines safely and on time Examine products to verify conformance to quality standards. Complete necessary paperwork in an accurate and timely manner. Maximize the utilization of equipment by operating the machinery at available capacity and speed. Adheres to daily production schedule. Makes recommendations for optimizing the schedule to meet cost, quality, delivery, and service goals. Complete necessary reports in an accurate and timely manner, including but not limited to - production data, machine operational status, safety data, quality data. Duties may be expanded upon and additional duties may be assigned. SUPERVISORY RESPONSIBILITIES This position has no supervisory responsibilities.
