Job summary

Carolina Container in Hickory, NC seeks a forklift operator to load and unload materials, move stock to storage and machines, and support daily production activities.

You will inspect forklifts, document maintenance, locate stock, and ensure safe, on-time delivery while maintaining product quality and a clean, safe workspace.

Qualifications

Responsibilities

• Operate forklift safely; must be qualified to operate forklift.
• Complete and document forklift inspections before shift and after changing forklifts; submit maintenance requests.
• Locate stock before the start of the run.
• Deliver stock to machines safely and on time.
• Examine products to verify conformance to quality standards.
• Complete paperwork accurately and timely.
• Maximize equipment utilization and operate at available capacity and speed.
• Adhere to production schedule; suggest schedule optimizations for cost, quality, delivery, and service.
• Prepare reports on production data, machine status, safety data, and quality data.

Job description

SUMMARY: Operate powered industrial trucks to load and unload materials and deliveries and move them to and from storage areas, machines and loading docks.

Essential Duties And Responsibilities

• Operation and care of forklift in a safe manner. Must be qualified to properly operate the forklift.
• Complete and document a forklift inspection form before start of shift and when operating a new forklift and turn in maintenance work orders to supervision for needed repairs.
• Locate stock before the start of the run.
• Deliver appropriate stock to appropriate machines safely and on time
• Examine products to verify conformance to quality standards.
• Complete necessary paperwork in an accurate and timely manner.
• Maximize the utilization of equipment by operating the machinery at available capacity and speed.
• Adheres to daily production schedule. Makes recommendations for optimizing the schedule to meet cost, quality, delivery, and service goals.
• Complete necessary reports in an accurate and timely manner, including but not limited to - production data, machine operational status, safety data, quality data.
• Duties may be expanded upon and additional duties may be assigned.

Required to maintain a current Fork Lift Operator License.
