Job summary

Dairy Farmers of America is hiring a 3rd shift Warehouse Forklift Operator in Grand Rapids, MI. You will load and unload trailers, move pallets, stage materials, and manage materials within the facility while adhering to GMP and safety standards.

Starting pay is $24.98 per hour, with benefits after 60 days. A high school diploma or equivalent and Warehouse experience are preferred. Equal opportunity employer.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or equivalent preferred.
• Warehouse, production, or general work experience preferred.
• Certification and/or license may be required during course of employment.

Responsibilities

• Execute the loading and unloading of products in trailers.
• Distribute pallets of product from the palletizer to distribution trailers and staging areas.
• Stage materials for production.
• Move product and materials within facility (plant and/or cooler).
• Receive materials for warehouse storage.
• Supply packaging material, cartons, and hulls to line as needed.
• Maintain pallet supply for palletizer.
• Rotate packaging and ingredients using FIFO (First In - First Out).
• Ensure all paperwork is filled out in a clear, legible, and accurate format, and completed with required information.
• Ensure all required information is documented in accordance with SOPs.
• Utilize continuous improvement mindset, assist in identifying opportunities to improve processes.
• Report any food safety and food quality related issues to management immediately.
• Maintain safe working conditions for employees and compliance with all state and federal regulations regarding health and safety issues.
• Follow all DFA GMPs and work in a manner consistent with all corporate regulatory, food safety, quality, and sanitation requirements.

General Purpose

Operate gasoline, liquefied gas, or electric powered industrial truck equipped with lifting devices, such as forklift, boom, scoop, lift beam and swivel 'hook fork' grapple, clamps, elevating platform, or trailer hitch, to push, pull, lift, stack, tier, or move products, equipment, or materials in a warehouse, storage yard, or facility.
