Work Description

• Operate construction hoist to lift and move loads such as machinery, equipment, products, and jobsite personnel using hoisting attachments (hook, sling, electromagnet, or bucket); observe load hookup and determine load safety.
• Manipulate or depress controls (pedals, levers, and buttons) to regulate speed and direction of forklift according to written, verbal, or signal instructions.
• Clean and maintain forklift mechanism.
• Inspect forklift for defective parts and notify supervisors of defects and malfunctions.
• Attach load to hook or other hoisting accessory prior to operating forklift (when applicable).
• Understand load charts.
• Model-specific training and demonstrate competency.
• Belong to local union hall.

• Work is mainly outside and exposed to various weather conditions.
