Work Description
Operate construction hoist to lift and move loads such as machinery, equipment, products, and jobsite personnel using hoisting attachments (hook, sling, electromagnet, or bucket); observe load hookup and determine load safety.
Manipulate or depress controls (pedals, levers, and buttons) to regulate speed and direction of forklift according to written, verbal, or signal instructions.
Clean and maintain forklift mechanism.
Inspect forklift for defective parts and notify supervisors of defects and malfunctions.
Attach load to hook or other hoisting accessory prior to operating forklift (when applicable).
Understand load charts.
Model-specific training and demonstrate competency.
Belong to local union hall.

Work is mainly outside and exposed to various weather conditions.
