Job summary

EmergencyMD in Childress, TX is seeking a forklift operator to load, unload, and move materials on construction sites and within yards. You will operate hoists and forklifts, read load charts, and observe safety protocols to keep operations efficient.

WORK DESCRIPTION

• Operate construction hoist, to lift, move, loads, such as machinery, equipment, products, jobsite personnel and solid or bulk materials, using hoisting attachments, such as hook, sling, electromagnet, or bucket: observes load hookup and determines safety of load.
• Manipulates or depresses controls, such as pedals, levers, and buttons, to regulate speed and direction of forklift according to written, verbal, or signal instructions.
• Cleans and maintains forklift mechanism.
• Inspects forklift for defective parts and notifies supervisors of defects and malfunctions.
• May attach load to hook or other hoisting accessory prior to operating forklift.
• Able to understand load charts.
• Model specific training,
• Show competency.
• Belong to local union hall.

• Work is mainly outside thus exposed to various weather conditions.
