Job summary

HCI Integrated Solutions at Fort Bragg seeks a forklift operator to support on/offloading, pallet movement, and container handling in a safety-conscious environment. You will perform PMCS, maintain equipment logs, and assist with military and commercial cargo loading plans.

Qualifications

  • Experience operating forklifts in a government or federal context.

  • Ability to determine center of balance for cargo and load planning.
  • Familiarity with OSHA, EPA, and safety regulations.

Responsibilities

  • Operate all types of forklifts and load/unload pallets and equipment.
  • Maintain equipment logs and perform PMCS.
  • Plan on/offloading of military and commercial containers.
  • Weigh passengers and cargo using scales and verify proper weighing.
  • Verify MSLS, TCNs, and shipping descriptions per regulations.
  • Report maintenance discrepancies to Air Movement Operations Lead.

Job description

Reports directly to Shift Lead and operates all types of forklifts. Must have a working knowledge of container operations, including container lifting systems. Load and unload pallets, supplies, and equipment from docks, enforces safety practices, and document all procedures. Operates 10K forklifts in support of the mission. Performs site surveys to determine safe lifting capacities. Report any maintenance or operational discrepancies to the Air Movement Operations Lead. Perform Daily Preventive Maintenance Checks and Services (PMCS) and maintain equipment logs. Plans and executes the on/offloading of different types of military and commercial containers. Have a working knowledge of Air Transport Test Loading Activity (ATTLA) certification letters. Will weigh passengers and cargo and use in-ground and portable scales to identify and correct proper weighing of vehicles and cargo IAW DTR Part III Mobility, Appendix P. Must mathematically determine the center of balance of items to develop a final aircraft load plan IAW DTR Part III Mobility, Appendix P. Inspects and handles hazardous material to ensure it is properly packaged and stored on pallets or in vehicles IAW TM38-250 and 49 CFR. Visually inspect hazardous material to ensure it is properly marked on pallets or in vehicles IAW TM38-250 and 49 CFR. Reviews shipping paper accompanying cargo for accurate description and complete record of items to be transported. Verify and correct Military Shipping Labels (MSLs) with proper weight, Transportation Control Number (TCN), and shipping information IAW Defense Travel Regulation (DTR). Will also verify correct vehicle order in chalks according to users’ aircraft load plan. Comply with OSHA, EPA, Fire Regulations, and Working Rules
