Job summary

Georgia-Pacific in Denton, TX is seeking a Forklift Operator to safely operate forklifts, load/unload materials, and complete shipping documentation. Training occurs on first shift, then move to 2nd or 3rd shift. Candidates must be able to work overtime, weekends, and holidays.

RF scanner experience is a plus. Must maintain certification and adhere to safety rules. This role supports our corrugated sheet feeder plant with a focus on safe, efficient production and distribution.

Qualifications

• Minimum 1 year experience operating a forklift or similar equipment.
• Willing to work second or third shift with overtime and holidays.
• Must be able to obtain and maintain forklift certification.

Responsibilities

• Safely drive and operate a forklift and maintain certification.
• Load and unload materials.
• Complete shipping documentation accurately using paper and computer systems.
• Determine resources for production and distribution.
• Participate in setting team goals and managing job assignments.
• Maintain clean and safe work environment.
• Use basic computer skills to complete shipping tasks.
• Work in hot, humid, cold, and noisy industrial environment.
• Work weekends, holidays, and overtime as needed.
• Sit for 8–12 hours daily.

Your Job

Georgia-Pacific is looking for a Forklift Operator for our corrugated sheet feeder plant in Denton, TX!

Salary

• $22 per hour.
• 2nd Shift Differential is $0.75

Shift

• Currently hiring for 2nd shift (2:00pm - 10:00pm) and 3rd shift (10:00pm - 06:00am)
• Must be available and flexible to work overtime, weekends, and holidays as needed.
• Please note that training will be on 1st shift (6am - 2pm); once completed, you will move to your assigned shift.

What You Will Do in Your Role

• Safely driving and operating a forklift (obtain/maintain certification)
• Loading and unloading materials
• Properly and accurately completing all required shipping documentation (both manually and with the use of a computer software system)
• Determining the resources available for the production and distribution process
• Participating in setting team goals and managing job assignments
• Performing general housekeeping duties to maintain a safe and clean work environment
• Utilize basic computer skills to complete shipping tasks
• Willing and able to work in a hot, humid, cold and noisy industrial environment
• Willing and able to work weekends, holidays, and overtime as needed
• Willing and able to sit for at least eight (8) - (12) hours a day
• Willing and able to maintain strict adherence to safety rules and regulations, including wearing safety equipment.

The Experience You Will Bring

• One (1) year of experience operating a forklift, clamp truck, or other similar type of equipment

What Will Put You Ahead

• One (1) year of experience driving and operating a forklift within an industrial or manufacturing environment
• Previous experience using a Radio Frequency (RF) scanner
