Job summary

Greif is seeking a Forklift Operator in De Pere, WI to provide material handling and preparation support for producing recycled paper stock for mill customers. You will ensure safe operation, accurate handling, and timely delivery of materials while maintaining a clean workplace.

Typical duties include loading/unloading with a forklift, performing routine maintenance, and inspecting materials to meet quality standards.

Qualifications

• High school diploma (or equivalent) with 1–2 years relevant experience.
• Ability to lift up to 50 lbs and perform physical tasks.
• Comfort with operating various machines as required.
• Ability to follow verbal and written work instructions.
• Ability to work independently or in a group.

Responsibilities

• Maintain a clean and safe work environment.
• Participate in safety training and drills.
• Report safety and quality problems to Production leads or Manager.
• Inspect machines for safe operation and ensure equipment is in good condition.
• Safely load, unload, move, stack, and stage materials with a forklift or similar equipment.
• Perform quality inspections and ensure orders meet standards.
• Maintain neat, clean, and orderly work area.
• Possibly perform other duties as assigned.

Job Description

ROLE OVERVIEW

Provides material handling and preparation support for producing accurate quality and quantity of recycled paper stock for mill customers.

Key Responsibilities

• Maintain a clean and safe work environment.
• Consistently demonstrates and incorporates principals of safety for self and others into daily activities.
• Attends required safety training and participates in emergency drills and exercises.
• Reports all safety and quality problems to the Production leads or Production Manager.
• Inspect machines for safe operation
• Checking vehicle and trailer to ensure the mechanical, safety and emergency equipment is in good working order
• On a daily basis, inspect and perform minor maintenance on the forklift or other equipment as necessary
• Safely load, unload, move, stack, and stage sorted raw materials using a forklift, or other power industrial equipment as necessary
• Perform quality inspections of materials, grading properly, and ensuring that the delivery is completed as requested and that the order meets company and industry standards.
• Maintain the facility's equipment and materials in a neat, clean, and orderly fashion
• Consistently maintains acceptable level of productivity.
• May be required to perform other duties as requested, directed or assigned.

Education And Experience

• Typically possesses a high school diploma (or equivalent) and 1-2 years of relevant experience.

Knowledge And Skills

• Ability to show up for entire scheduled shifts
• Ability to lift up to 50 lbs., stand/walk/bend/ lift continuously and perform physical tasks
• Ability to operate various machines as required.
• Ability to follow verbal and written work instructions.
• Ability to work independently or in a group.
• Strong attention to detail.

Compensation Range

The pay range for this position is $17.55 - $28.03annually. Typically, a competitive wage for new hires will fall between19.00 to21.00. Offers for this position may vary based on market data and other factors such as job-related knowledge, skills, experience, and geographic location. If the competitive wage is equal in both fields, the starting rate is the same for all applicants that apply for this role. The starting rate is not representative of future compensation increases. The position may also be eligible for a short-term incentive.
