Trinidad Benham Corporation is seeking a Forklift Operator in Dallas, TX. The role emphasizes safe operation of sit-down and stand-up forklifts, order processing, shipping, and receiving duties within a fast-paced manufacturing setting.

The ideal candidate has at least 1 year of forklift experience, strong paperwork skills, and a positive attitude. Daily responsibilities include loading/unloading, pallet building with FIFO, and maintaining a clean work area, following GMP and SQF procedures.

Responsibilities

• Safely and efficiently operate forklifts (sit-down and stand-up reach).
• Read Bills of Lading and Pick Sheets.
• Accurately pick full pallets and case quantities to build full pallets with FIFO.
• Safely load/unload products to/from trucks using forklifts.
• Maintain clean, organized aisles and rack storage; ensure FIFO.
• Inventory products; label, sort, wrap and tie as needed.
• Hand load product onto containers.
• Comply with safety policies; GMP and SQF procedures.
• Complete required paperwork to company standards.
• Support lead person/manager with additional duties.

WHAT YOU'LL BE DOING

Summary

The Forklift Operator is primarily responsible for accurately processing orders per schedule, transporting and staging product, and loading and unloading product and supplies in a safe, efficient and timely manner.

Essential functions

• Safely and efficiently operate forklifts (sit down and stand-up reach) according to training and company safety policies.
• Read and understand Bills of Lading and Pick Sheets.
• Using daily pick sheets, accurately and efficiently pick full pallets and case quantities to build full pallets, ensuring first in first out method is followed, shrink wrap pallets when necessary, stage product for loading, check pallets for accuracy to order.
• Safely load and unload product and other supplies to/from trucks using appropriate forklift (s). Obtains samples of incoming bulk product according to Quality Control Guidelines. Places product in appropriate storage areas.
• Maintain clean and organized aisles and rack storage, consolidate partial pallets when needed. Ensure product, including partial pallets is organized according to the first in first out inventory methodology.
• Inventory product as needed, label, sort, wrap and tie product.
• Hand load product onto containers.
• Comply with company safety policies and maintain clean and orderly work area.
• Comply with Good Manufacturing Practices (GMP) and Safe Quality Food (SQF) procedures
• Accurately complete required paperwork in accordance with company standards.
• Additional duties as assigned by lead person and/or manager.

WHAT WE NEED

MUST-HAVES:

• HS Diploma or GED.
• 1 + years recent experience operating Sit Down and Stand-Up reach forklifts in a warehouse environment.
• Must be able to meet daily production requirements.
• Experience and ability to work in a fast-paced manufacturing environment.
• Read and comprehend required paperwork.
• Writing skills sufficient to complete required paperwork.
• Ability to perform basic math skills
• Must display a positive attitude and work well with all levels of personnel.
• Ability to work well with all levels of employees whether individually or in a team environment.
• Effectively communicate questions, problems and reports to co-workers, supervisory and management personnel.
• Flexibility to accommodate unscheduled changes in duties and work overtime as needed.

NICE-TO-HAVES:

• 1+ years operating Sit Down and Stand Up reach forklifts picking and pulling orders, loading and unloading trucks in a fast paced warehouse environment.

WORK CONDITIONS & PHYSICAL ENVIRONMENT

• Frequently (more than 75% of time) required to: stand and/or walk, use ladders and climb stairs, bend and stoop, reach, push/pull, kneel and crouch. Lift, carry and/or move items up to 100 pounds, without assistance; use hands to finger, handle, or touch objects, tools, or controls, to verbally communicate; and to hear. Specific vision abilities required by this job include close vision and the ability to adjust focus.
• Frequently exposed to a non-climate-controlled environment.
• Frequently (more than 75% of time) exposed to dust and loud noise.
• Frequently (more than 75% of time) exposed to machinery and mechanical, moving parts.
