Summary
Responsible for all general warehouse functions including loading, unloading, manual depal, receiving, put-a-way, pulls and replenishments, and selection of product when qualified and as needed in accordance with Preferred Work Methods (PWMs). Each function requires specific equipment and/or process certification. Requires working in freezer, cooler, and dry warehouse environments with extreme cold and/or warm temperatures. Performs all duties safely, accurately, and meets set productivity standards and goals.
Responsibilities include:
- Following warehouse management system directed tasking to transport pallets of product safely between staging areas following established PWMs.
- Using material handling equipment (MHE), primarily a reach forklift, to put away product.
- Inspecting moved products for shortages, damage, or quality issues and reporting to supervisor.
- Replenishing product to full pallet or hand stack pick location/slot from reserve location following directed tasking and PWMs.
- Removing shrink wrap, bands, or tape when placing a pallet into a selection location.
- Securing pallets with shrink wrap for delivery or storage.
- Transporting multiple pallets carefully to prevent damage, with heavier items on the bottom.
- Delivering stacked pallets to the loading dock for systematic loading.
- Completing forklift operator certification and performing PWMs.
- Working with supervisors to minimize warehouse shrink/damage.
- Maintaining cleanliness and accuracy of warehouse areas and locations.
- Reporting unsafe issues immediately.
- Enforcing safety rules to prevent accidents and injuries.
- Operating MHE safely and maintaining equipment.
- Using warehouse computers and RF equipment properly.
- Complying with company policies and safety regulations such as OSHA and HACCP.
- Supporting food safety policies and procedures.
- Performing other warehouse duties as assigned.
Qualifications include:
- Must be at least 18 years old and pass a functional capacity test.
- Effective team communication skills.
- High school diploma or GED preferred; 6 months forklift experience required.
- Reach truck experience and material handling equipment certification preferred.
Physical requirements:
- Ability to lift up to 50 pounds regularly and up to 100 pounds occasionally.
- Frequent standing, walking, reaching, talking, and hearing.
Work environment:
- Warehouse setting with exposure to extreme temperatures, noise, and moving equipment.
Work hours:
- Full-time, with varying shifts including days, nights, weekends, and holidays.
