Job description

Turner Industries Group is looking for Forklift Operators in the Cantonment, FL area. Forklift Operators are responsible for stacking and retrieving supplies and materials. Responsibilities include working under the direction of a supervisor, documenting and maintaining inventory, and ensuring production area organization and cleanliness.

• Must be able to pass pre-employment drug screen and background check
• Must have valid driver's license
• Per diem and relocation are not available for this position; the successful candidate will be a current resident in the Cantonment, FL area.

Functional Requirements

• Moves hand and foot levers to control diesel, electric, or gasoline operating equipment
• Interprets hand signals to determine where materials are to be placed
• Reads and interprets load charts
• May be required to manipulate equipment on unleveled working surfaces
• May perform maintenance duties such as cleaning, greasing, and oiling machines/equipment
• Maintains a clean and safe work area

Qualification Standards

• Preferably one (1) to three (3) years of experience in specified skill
• Post-offer drug/alcohol screen and physical evaluation
• Hazard Communication orientation/test
• Turner Industries Group, LLC indoctrination
• OSHA approved corrective eye wear (Z87)
• Job site orientation
• Job site safety requirements (clean shaven, long sleeves, steel toe boots, etc.)
• Safety equipment as required by the client (hard hat, safety glasses, gloves, respirator, hearing protection, safety harness with lanyard, etc.)
• Applicant/employee must not pose a direct threat to the health or safety of such individual or others at the workplace

Physical Involvement

• Employee may be required to do the following: climbing into and out of equipment; reaching in all directions; handling and manipulating objects and materials; coordinating the movements of eyes, hands, fingers and feet to operate tools and equipment; lifting 30 to 50 pounds from ground level, waist level, and/or overhead; carrying objects, tools, equipment, etc.; standing; sitting; walking; pushing; pulling; bending; kneeling; crouching/squatting; crawling; seeing with or without correction; hearing with or without correction

Mental Involvement

• Employee may be required to do the following: following set procedures and standards; applying basic mathematical skills; planning work and selecting proper tools; reading and interpreting load charts; judging distances and slopes accurately; following oral and/or written directions; reading; writing; ability to recognize and report safety hazards

Work Environment Factors

• Location: industrial construction sites and/or fabrication shops
• Mobility Barriers to Access Job Site: uneven ground level; obstructed pathways; work performed at low and/or high elevations; work performed in confined areas
• Climatic/Environmental Conditions at Job Site: may be exposed to extreme hot or cold weather, excessive humidity, rain, etc.; various noise levels caused by tools, machinery, equipment, etc.; potential exposure to chemical substances
