Job summary

Jobtailor is seeking a reliable Forklift Operator in Birmingham, AL to handle loading/unloading, pallet inspection, and accurate inventory transactions using RF scanning. The role requires adherence to SQF, GMPs, FSMA, and preventive controls while maintaining quality and safety standards.

The ideal candidate holds a high school diploma or GED, a forklift certification, and at least one year in a warehouse/distribution environment with strong math, reading, and communication skills.

Qualifications

• High School Diploma/GED.
• 1 year of experience in a warehouse distribution environment.
• Previously licensed/certified as a forklift driver.
• Good math skills are required.
• Must be able to read, write and communicate effectively.
• Must be able to identify and report any food safety and food security concerns.

Responsibilities

• Properly operate powered industrial trucks to load and unload materials and FGs
• Use RF scanner to ensure accurate transactions of product movement
• Inspect pallets to prevent product damage and missing cases
• Complete load sheet and verify code dates and label allergens
• Perform pre-op inspection of forklift before operation
• Responsible for following all food safety policies, procedures and regulatory criteria including the current SQF code, Good Manufacturing Practices (GMPs), and Food Safety Modernization Act (FSMA) and associated preventive controls

Requirements
