Job summary

Genpak LLC in Longview, TX is seeking a Forklift Operator for a 12-hour dayshift (7:00 AM – 7:00 PM). You will move product in the warehouse, unload trailers, and place items in correct locations while following OSHA, SQF, GMP, and food safety standards.

Responsibilities include performing daily forklift inspections, pulling and loading orders with barcode scanners, documenting movements in Oracle, and supporting lean initiatives.

Qualifications

  • Powered Industrial Truck certificate or in-house training.
  • Experience in manufacturing, distribution, or warehouse settings preferred.
  • Ability to operate in a fast-paced environment and follow safety procedures.

Responsibilities

  • Operate forklift equipment per OSHA, including daily inspections.
  • Unload trailers and place product in correct locations; ensure proper labeling.
  • Pull correct product and case count; verify labels and load accurately.
  • Document inventory movements and variations in Oracle; complete load sheets.
  • Support housekeeping, lean initiatives, and 5S within the warehouse.

Job description

ROLE: FORKLIFT OPERATOR — Dayshift 7AM — 7PM 12-HOUR SHIFT

Operate Forklifts per OSHA requirements to distribute products to customers per orders,

unload trailers of product and put product in correct locations. Operate Forklifts per

OSHA requirements to take product from Sealing Line and put in correct location in the

Warehouse. Be committed to SQF, GMP and Food Safety.

++ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES++
  • Must complete trailer inspections reports for all assigned loads per plant sanitation standards.
  • Operate forklift equipment and other power industrial trucks per OSHA specifications, including daily inspections, 50-pound dock plate secured, and trailer wheels are choked.
  • Complete all assigned load sheets (Shipping orders) accurately and neatly via use of barcode scanners.
  • Accurately pull correct product (including color) and case count requested.
  • Ensure all product pulled had appropriate “labels” prior to loading in trailer.
  • Cases are stacked in trailer per trailer configuration requirements and the trailer is full.
  • Accurately Document all product pulled, including bay locations, and loaded onto trailer.
  • Document all variations from original shipping order on load sheets to ensure accuracy in Oracle.
  • Notify Warehouse Supervisor or Warehouse Assistant of any “damaged” cases.
  • Perform bay consolidations per Warehouse requirements to include:
  • Reorganization of similar product into one location
  • Restacking of product within a bay due to leaning or falling product
  • To correct Oracle inventory system data
  • Participating on Annual Physical Inventory Process each year
  • Assist truck drivers to include:
  • Trailer location
  • Location of truck driver’s restrooms and vending area
  • Paperwork pickup
  • Perform Housekeeping functions (including your assigned aisle) necessary to keep Warehouse neat and organized daily
  • Must meet daily departmental goals that have been assigned by Supervisor or Management.
  • Operate forklift in a safe and efficient manner around others in departments in a fast-paced work environment.
  • Operate scanners through the various job tasks in the department such as: shipping, s-line, receiving, and product consolidation.
  • Must load and unload various size trailers while meeting departmental goals.
  • Must be affiliated with all aspects of the Warehouse including shipping, receiving, and s-line and able to work in any area when needed.
  • Must perform daily condition checks on forklifts and turn in.
  • Report all food safety concerns or issues to the Supervisor/Manager.
  • Must comply with all company policies and procedures, including:
  • Personal Protective Equipment (PPE) requirements, including but not limited to safety glasses, hearing protection and appropriate footwear.
  • Good Manufacturing Practice (GMP) and Safe Quality Food (SQF) requirements, including but not limited to clean clothing that does not have beading, sequins, rhinestones, or other decoration that may become lose and fall into the manufacturing process, hair and/or beard nets, clean nails that are free of polish and natural eyelashes.
  • Standard Work Practices or Processes (SWP) requirements, including but not limited to:
  • Following step by step procedures
  • Maintaining workstation organization
  • Recording/tracking production
  • General Safety Rule requirements, including but not limited to not taking unsafe actions; reporting near misses, unsafe conditions or incidents immediately to the Supervisor, following proper lifting procedures, being attentive and using common sense.
  • Participate in all required communication and training meetings.
  • Support all LEAN and Continuous Improvement initiatives, including but not limited to 5S (Sort, set, shine, standardize and sustain) Standard Work and Eliminate Waste.
  • Additional responsibilities as assigned.

Interpersonal/Communication:
  • Ability to communicate effectively and work closely and productively as part of a cross-functional team.
  • Willingness to work with others and be an active trainee and trainer.
Technical Knowledge:
  • Basic math skills
  • Ability to demonstrate and apply logic when performing responsibilities.
  • Basic knowledge of quality standards

EDUCATION & EXPERIENCE:
  • Powered Industrial Truck Certificate (in house training and licensing)
  • Previous experience in manufacturing, distribution or other industrial setting preferred.
  • Comparable experience in a warehouse driving a Powered Industrial Truck
