Job summary

Goodwill of Erie, Huron, Ottawa, and Sandusky is seeking a Forklift Operator at the Bellevue Plant in Bellevue, OH. The role involves transporting materials to the warehouse, loading/unloading trailers, and supporting production with accurate part placement.

Ideal candidates have a high school diploma or GED, at least two years in manufacturing, forklift experience, and the required certification. Drug testing is required; training is provided by Goodwill.

Responsibilities

• Move raw materials and finished goods using forklift to warehouse and workstations.
• Load and unload supply trailers; ensure correct parts at workstations.
• Maintain documentation for shipping and receiving processes; report freight damage.
• Follow safety procedures and participate in required trainings.
• Perform routine inspection and preventative maintenance on equipment and notify maintenance of issues.
• Maintain regular attendance and punctuality.

As t he Forklift Operator, you will be responsible for forklift transportation of raw materials and finished products to the warehouse, workstations, and for loading and unloading supply trailers.

Essential functions

• Follow established policies and procedures for loading and unloading trucks and material handling; assist with maintaining the warehouse.
• Ensure that workstations contain the correct parts.
• Maintain open communication with supervisors, team leaders and material handlers regarding production status (i.e., downtime, material shortage, etc.).
• Prepare required documentation for shipping and receiving processes, and report freight damage.
• Follow company and OSHA safety procedures; attend training as required.
• Perform routine inspection and preventative maintenance on assigned equipment; notify maintenance of issues and concerns.
• Maintain regular and reliable attendance and punctuality.
• Attend safety trainings and follow all safety procedures and protocols to always ensure a safe and supervised work environment for all employees.

Ideal Candidate Profile

• High school diploma or GED preferred.
• Two years' experience in a manufacturing environment.
• Two years' experience operating a forklift.
• Forklift certification required; training provided by Goodwill Industries.
• Must pass drug test.

• Ensures proper use of Personal Protective Equipment when required.
