Job summary

Optimized Process Designs (OPD) is seeking a Forklift Operator for the Baytown jobsite. You will operate an extended reach forklift to move materials, transport pallets and large items, and stage shipments at designated areas.

You must interpret hand signals and work within a strong safety culture to support field operations. Applicants should have at least 1.5 years of forklift experience, be willing to travel, attend mandatory safety meetings, and work long shifts in a team environment at

The jobsite in Baytown II, TX has an opening for a Forklift Operator.

What You Will Do

Some core responsibilities for a Forklift Operator include:

• Operate an extended reach forklift to transport materials within the jobsite
• Transport pallets, boxes, pipe, any other large objects etc. within the jobsite
• Interpret hand signals to determine where materials should be placed
• Unloading materials shipments when they arrive at the jobsite and stage in designated areas

• Recognize safety hazards and risks
• Participate in onsite safety meetings
• Follow OPD and client safety policies and procedures
• Be aware of changing conditions on an active jobsite
• Be on time to the jobsite each day ready for work
• Display a positive attitude and be able to work in a team environment

Some physical demands of being a Forklift Operator include:

• Capable of working in outdoor weather and environmental conditions including extreme heat and humidity, extreme cold, and high elevations
• Lifting and carrying awkward objects up to 60 lbs
• Standing for extended periods of time up to 11 hours per day. Breaks are given in 2.5 hour intervals
• Moving the entire body. Considerable use of arms, legs, climbing, lifting, balancing, walking, stooping, crawling, twisting, reaching, and bending on a regular basis
• Must have good hand-eye coordination
• Use hands to handle, control, and feel objects and/or tools

Who You Are (Basic Qualifications)

• At least 1.5 years of experience as a forklift operator
• Other Job Requirements:
• Travel is a must with extended periods away from home in remote areas at times
• Must be able and willing to attend mandatory safety meetings
• Must be able and willing to work in a team environment
• Must be able to work shifts up to 12 hours per day and 7 days per week
• Must be able to meet basic physical requirements

What Will Put You Ahead

• Three years of experience as a forklift operator
• Proficient in driving other large equipment such as skid steer, tractor, track hoe, back hoe, or excavator.
• Previous experience in oil and gas construction
