Job summary

Optimized Process Designs, LLC (OPD) is an engineering/construction company with a presence in Katy, TX and a jobsite in Carthage, TX seeking a Forklift Operator. You will operate an extended reach forklift, transport pallets and materials, interpret signals, and unload shipments at the Carthage jobsite.

This role requires travel and working in a safety-focused environment across active projects. The team emphasizes teamwork, safety, and meeting collective goals while supporting Koch Engineered

Qualifications

• At least 1.5 years of forklift operator experience.
• Willing to travel with extended periods away from home in remote areas.
• Must attend mandatory safety meetings.
• Must be able to work in a team environment.
• Must be able to work shifts up to 12 hours/day and 7 days/week.
• Must meet basic physical requirements.

What You Will Do

Some core responsibilities for a Forklift Operator include:

• Operate an extended reach forklift to transport materials within the jobsite
• Transport pallets, boxes, pipe, any other large objects etc. within the jobsite
• Interpret hand signals to determine where materials should be placed
• Unloading materials shipments when they arrive at the jobsite and stage in designated areas

Some Physical Demands Of Being a Forklift Operator Include

• Capable of working in outdoor weather and environmental conditions including extreme heat and humidity, extreme cold, and high elevations
• Lifting and carrying awkward objects up to 60 lbs
• Standing for extended periods of time up to 12 hours per day.
• Moving the entire body. Considerable use of arms, legs, climbing, lifting, balancing, walking, stooping, crawling, twisting, reaching, and bending on a regular basis
• Must have good hand-eye coordination
• Use hands to handle, control, and feel objects and/or tools

Who You Are (Basic Qualifications)

• At least 1.5 years of experience as a forklift operator

What Will Put You Ahead

• Three years of experience as a forklift operator
• Proficient in driving other large equipment such as skid steer, tractor, track hoe, back hoe, or excavator.
• Previous experience in oil and gas construction
