Job summary

Georgia-Pacific in Asheboro, NC is seeking safety-oriented individuals to join our team as a Forklift Operator at our Asheboro facility. You will operate a 10,000 lb sit-down forklift, load/unload trailers, and maintain accurate shipment records while following all safety and environmental guidelines.

Shift flexibility is required, with 1st, 2nd, and 3rd shifts available. Orientation on 1st shift, with permanent assignment after training.

Qualifications

• One year or more experience operating a sit-down forklift in a shipping and receiving, loading, production, or manufacturing environment.
• Experience using computers/tablets.

Responsibilities

• Operate a sit-down forklift to load and unload trailers while keeping accurate shipment record.
• Safely operate a 10,000 lb. sit-down forklift to load and unload trailers.
• Ensure loads are properly secured and in good condition.
• Ensure accurate record keeping for all inbound and outbound shipments.
• Adhere to all plant safety and environmental guidelines, policies, and procedures.
• Perform general housekeeping duties to keep work areas clean and free of safety hazards.
• Pull whip and raw material for production support.
• Verify receipts, load sheets, and other required paperwork.
• Perform tasks such as lifting, walking, climbing, stooping, standing, pushing and/or pulling for at least 8 hours a day.

Georgia-Pacific is looking for safety-oriented individuals to join our team as a Forklift Operator in our Asheboro, NC Facility.

• $22.55 per hour
• 2 nd shift differential is $2.00 per hour
• 3rd shift differential is $1.00 per hour
• You will have the ability to increase your compensation based on skills and contribution to the overall performance of the plant.

Shift:

• Candidates must be flexible and available to work first, second, or third shift as needed. This will include overtime, holidays, and weekends.
• Currently hiring for 2 nd AND 3rd shift.
• Orientation will be on 1 st shift (7am-3pm), and you will be assigned your permanent 2 nd or 3rd shift after your orientation and training.

Shift Hours:

• 1 st shift: Monday – Friday 7am-3pm; weekends and overtime as needed
• 2 nd shift: Monday – Friday 3pm-11pm; weekends and overtime as needed
• 3 rd shift: Monday – Friday 11pm-7am; weekends and overtime as needed

What You Will Do

For this role, we anticipate paying $22.55per hour. This role is eligible for an additional $2.00 per hour while working on 2 nd shift.
