Job summary

Green Bay Packaging Inc. in Minnesota is seeking a full-time forklift operator to safely operate LP powered industrial trucks, move materials, and support production and shipping routines.

You will follow instructions, perform daily safety checks, use RF scanners, and maintain records while coordinating with production and warehouse teams. The position offers a competitive benefits package and room for growth within a family-owned company.

Qualifications

• High School diploma or equivalent.
• Clean driving record and a valid state motor vehicle license may be required.
• Forklift certification will be required and performed onsite per OSHA standards.
• Two years of experience positioning forks around pallets, skids, or materials.
• Good math, language and reading skills; basic computer skills.
• High degree of attention to prevent injury to yourself and others.
• Ability to inventory materials on the work floor and supply workers with materials when needed.

Responsibilities

• Follow instructions for operating equipment and keeping records.
• Execute assignments in an accurate, timely and safe manner.
• Obtain production schedules and transport materials to designated areas.
• Provide raw materials or stock to production machines per the schedule.
• Load/unload goods from trucks and trailers.
• Move goods around the facility on slips and pallets.
• Stack goods in storage bays following inventory procedures.
• Check loads are secure; remove waste materials from machines.
• Use RF scanning equipment daily.
• Lubricate trucks, refuel or replace liquefied gas.
• Keep radiators free of dust and debris.
• Complete daily safety and maintenance checks per OSHA guidelines.

Description

Position Overview

Safely operate a LP powered industrial truck equipped with tilting forks to lift, stack, tier, or move products, equipment, or materials to and/or from storage areas, machines, loading docks, warehouse facilities, or truck trailers.

Responsibilities

• Follow instructions for operating equipment and keeping records.
• Execute assignments in an accurate, timely and safe manner. Responsibilities include but are not limited to:
  • Obtaining a copy of the production schedule or shipping order and transporting materials to and from designated areas in the facility;
  • Providing raw materials or stock to production machines per the production schedule;
  • Loading/unloading goods from truck and trailers;
  • Moving goods packed on slip sheets and pallets around the facility;
  • Stacking goods in the correct storage bays, following inventory control procedures;
  • Checking loads are secure; and
  • Removing waste materials from machines.
• Required use of RF scanning equipment.
• Lubricate truck, refuel or replace liquefied gas.
• Keep radiator clear of dust and debris.
• Complete daily safety and maintenance checks, per OSHA guidelines, reporting any issues to maintenance for repair.

• Must have two (2) years of previous experience positioning forks over, under, or around bundles, loaded pallets, skids, boxes, products, or materials. NOTE: most units will NOT be on pallets.

• Ability to inventory materials on the work floor and supply workers with materials when needed.
