Job summary

US Federal Emergency Management Agency, Office of Response and Recovery, is seeking a Materials Handler (Motor Vehicle Operator) to manage warehouse duties with emphasis on forklift operations and accurate data recording. The role supports the Distribution Management Division by receiving, unloading, storing, shipping and maintaining materials and supplies.

Ideal candidates will operate forklifts (sit-down/stand-up) and use computer terminals and scan guns to log commodity data.

Qualifications

• Ability to perform material handling methods and techniques within a warehouse.
• Prepare shipping and inventory documents for automated inventory systems.
• Load and unload shipments using forklifts and pallet jacks.
• Organize incoming shipments for space utilization, safety and damage protection.

Responsibilities

• Receive, unload, store, ship, and maintain equipment and supplies.
• Operate sit-down and/or stand-up forklifts as needed and record commodity data.
• Recordkeeping and data entry using computer terminal and scan gun.
