Job summary

Odyssey Logistics in Fullerton, CA is seeking an experienced Forklift Mechanic to perform preventive maintenance, troubleshooting, and repairs on a fleet of about 30 forklifts. The role is onsite with a typical schedule Mon–Fri 7:00 am–3:30 pm and requires safety-conscious, detail-oriented mechanics who can handle multiple repair tasks efficiently.

Strong mechanical aptitude and knowledge of electrical/hydraulic systems are valued.

Qualifications

• Minimum 1 year of forklift mechanic experience preferred.
• Strong mechanical aptitude and willingness to learn forklift maintenance.
• Experience performing preventive maintenance and mechanical troubleshooting.
• Familiarity with electrical, hydraulic, brake, battery/charging, engine systems preferred.
• Welding or fabrication experience is a plus; willingness to learn is acceptable.
• Experience on propane and/or electric forklifts, pallet jacks, or similar equipment preferred.
• Must provide basic mechanic hand tools; specialty tools provided by the company.
• Forklift certification is preferred.
• Ability to safely operate around forklifts and related equipment.
• Dependable, safety-focused, and able to prioritize tasks.

Responsibilities

• Perform preventive maintenance, troubleshooting, diagnostics, and repairs on forklifts and related material-handling equipment.
• Work on propane and electric forklifts, pallet jacks, and multiple manufacturers.
• Diagnose mechanical issues and complete repairs safely and efficiently.
• Assist with maintenance on trucks, trailers, and other equipment as needed.
• Perform general facility maintenance, including minor electrical, plumbing, doors, and painting tasks.
• Assist with welding or fabrication work as needed; training may be provided.
• Complete work orders and maintenance documentation with accurate details.
• Maintain organized tools, equipment, parts, and work areas.
• Communicate with management and Safety Department about maintenance and safety issues.
• Comply with OSHA, DOT, CHP, and company safety requirements.
• Use PPE as applicable; BIT inspections and preventive maintenance at outlying terminals.
