Job summary

Verst Group in Cincinnati, OH is seeking a skilled maintenance technician to perform preventive maintenance on material handling equipment and building systems. The role requires hands-on repair work and accuracy in logs and documentation.

You will troubleshoot, read electrical schematics, weld when needed, and ensure OSHA regulations are followed. A high school diploma and at least five years' experience are expected; valid license and ability to travel regionally are a plus.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or equivalent.
• Minimum 5 years' experience with material handling equipment or building maintenance.
• Valid driver's license with good MVR; able to travel locally/regionally.
• Able to work on elevated platforms and heights.
• Knowledge of OSHA regulations.
• Excellent interpersonal and written/verbal communication skills.
• Able to lift up to 50 lbs.
• Proficient in reading electrical schematics.
• Welding experience preferred.

Responsibilities

• Purchase supplies and parts from approved suppliers as authorized.
• Assist with special projects as required.

Duties and Responsibilities:

Essential Functions:

• Carries out preventive maintenance programs for all material handling equipment to ensure safe and efficient operation and maximize useful life of the equipment.
• Reviews daily Preventive Maintenance Check Forms completed by warehouse associates and makes general equipment repairs.
• Identifies existing or potential building and equipment issues and makes recommendations to Property and Maintenance Manager.
• Performs general maintenance and repairs of building and facilities which may include cosmetic, electrical, plumbing, HVAC and carpentry work.
• Maintains logs and documentation on maintenance and repairs.
• Complies with OSHA and other appropriate standards.
• Purchases supplies and parts from approved suppliers as authorized by the Property and Maintenance Manager.

Marginal Functions:

• Assists with special projects or other assignments as required and based on level of expertise.

Job Specifications:

1. High school diploma or equivalent.

2. Minimum of 5 years prior experience in material handling equipment and/or building maintenance based on position needs.

3. Unexpired driver’s license, good MVR and ability to travel locally and regionally as needed.

4. Unafraid of heights and able to work on elevated platform.

5. Knowledge of OSHA regulations.

6. Excellent interpersonal and communication skills, written and verbal.

7. Able to reach, climb, bend and lift up to 50 lbs.

8. Strong technical and problem solving skills.

9. Proficient in reading electrical schematics.

10. Experience in welding, preferred.
