UFP Industries is seeking a skilled Forklift Mechanic in Indiana to inspect, diagnose, repair, and maintain forklifts and other material handling equipment. The role requires strong mechanical and electrical troubleshooting abilities and a commitment to workplace safety.

Responsibilities include preventive maintenance, repairing components, maintaining service records, and responding to emergencies. Candidates should have 1 year of machine repair experience, and be comfortable working indoors

Qualificações

• High school diploma is required.
• Minimum 1 year of experience in machine repair or maintenance.
• Working knowledge of electrical, hydraulic, and control technology, and welding.
• Knowledge of safe equipment practices and applicable laws, rules, and regulations.
• Demonstrate working knowledge of hazardous waste and hazardous material handling procedures.
• Must be at least 18 years of age.

Responsabilidades

Job Summary

The Forklift Mechanic is responsible for inspecting, diagnosing, repairing, and maintaining forklifts and other material handling equipment to ensure safe and efficient operation. This role requires strong mechanical and electrical troubleshooting skills, knowledge of hydraulic systems, and a commitment to workplace safety.

Principal Duties And Responsibilities

• Perform routine maintenance, inspections, and repairs on electric, propane, diesel, and gasoline-powered forklifts.
• Diagnose mechanical, hydraulic, electrical, and electronic system issues.
• Repair or replace defective components, including engines, transmissions, brakes, steering systems, and hydraulic equipment.
• Conduct preventive maintenance according to manufacturer specifications.
• Troubleshoot battery systems, chargers, and electrical controls on electric forklifts.
• Complete safety inspections and ensure equipment complies with company and regulatory standards.
• Maintain accurate service records, repair logs, and parts inventory documentation.
• Respond to equipment breakdowns and perform emergency repairs as needed.
• Order and manage replacement parts and supplies.
• Operate diagnostic tools and testing equipment to identify problems.
• Follow all OSHA and company safety policies and procedures.
• Provide recommendations for equipment replacement or major repairs.
