Job summary

Weyerhaeuser Phoenix Distribution Center is seeking a Forklift Operations Associate to move and handle wood products in the yard/warehouse. Under the direction of the Site Operations Manager, you will perform safe forklift tasks and support daily shipping and receiving.

This is a full-time, day shift position based in Phoenix, AZ. No prior forklift operator experience required; training provided. You must be able to lift up to 50 pounds and work outdoors five days a week.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or GED.
• No prior forklift operator experience required. Training provided.
• Ability to lift up to 50 pounds and move or slide up to 100 pounds.
• Must be able work outside in the elements five days a week and occasional Saturdays depending on business needs.
• Ability to work on a computer.
• Ability to work cohesively in a team environment with strong attention to detail and accuracy.

Responsibilities

• Safely operate and maintain propane or gas forklift to move products from stock lines to staging and/or cut stations.
• Safely load and unload products from various trailers and rail cars
• Safely do your job to ensure your personal safety and the safety of others.
• Courage to intervene in any unsafe practices.
• Wear all personal protective equipment as required.
• Accurately perform basic math skills such as adding, subtracting, and multiplying
• Accurately count units, record totals and document shipping and receiving activities
• Develop in depth knowledge of building material products and warehouse operations.
• Commit to quality, efficiency, and continuous process improvement.
