Job summary

Hillphoenix in Richmond, VA is seeking a Material Handler II to load and unload materials, maintain flow to production, and support warehouse operations. You will read orders, follow instructions, and move items safely to where they are needed.

A successful candidate will have a High School diploma and at least 1 year of forklift experience, with 2+ years in order pulling preferred. You will work with ERP systems, handle packaging, and assist with cycle counts as needed.

Qualifications

• Reads sales orders, follows oral instructions, phone instructions or e-mail instructions to ascertain materials or containers to be moved.
• Receives incoming materials, parts, and packages from various suppliers and means of delivery. Unpacks, examines and routes incoming shipments, rejects damaged items, records shortages, and corresponds with shipper or supplier to rectify damages and shortages.

Responsibilities

• Reads sales orders, follows instructions to ascertain materials to be moved.
• Receives incoming materials and routes shipments, records shortages, and communicates with suppliers.
• Order material from warehouse via ERP system for production lines.
• Loads and unloads materials onto pallets and shelves by hand or with equipment.
• Operates forklift to move materials and assist in loading/unloading.
• Attaches labels to materials and delivers paperwork to data entry.
• Supports cycle counts and inventory as directed by supervisor.
