Job summary

Carris Reels, Inc. is seeking a Material Handler II to safely move, store, and stage materials and finished goods in the Main Mill using a sit-down forklift.

The role supports timely receiving, put-away, picking, and shipping while keeping the warehouse organized and safe. Key duties include unload inbound trucks, verify counts, record movements in the ERP system, perform pre-shift inspections, and maintain a clean, hazard-free work area.

Qualifications

• High School Diploma or equivalent is required.
• Forklift experience preferred.
• Ability to operate forklifts safely and efficiently.

Responsibilities

• Operate sit-down forklifts to load, unload, move, and stack materials.
• Unload inbound trucks and containers; verify counts against paperwork.
• Put away received materials in designated locations.
• Record inventory movements using an ERP system.
• Perform pre-shift forklift inspections and report issues promptly.
• Participate in physical counts and help resolve discrepancies.
• Maintain clean, organized work areas and keep aisles/docks hazard-free.
• Wrap, label, and secure pallets for safe storage and transport.
• Follow safety rules, OSHA standards, and PPE requirements.
• Communicate inventory issues and workflow needs with the supervisor.
• Perform other duties as assigned.
