Job summary

AAK Louisville is seeking a Forklift Driver to move pallets and wrap loads for storage, while maintaining safety and efficiency on the warehouse floor.

Responsibilities include operating a forklift, using handheld scanners, pulling orders, and assisting receiving. A high school diploma and 3+ years forklift experience are required; basic computer skills are expected. Benefits include health coverage and an employer 401(k) match.

Responsibilities

• Pick up completed pallets from the production line and place in warehouse.
• Hand wrap pallets from Shortening Line and Super Sacks line for storage.
• Replace supplies as needed and charge forklift before breaks and shift end.
• Drive forklift to move product and load trucks as needed.
• Pull orders to fit customer needs and create space for inventory.
• Operate scanners to pull customer orders and assist receiving.
• Follow GMP safety policies and participate in cost-containment.

About the role

The Forklift Drivers are responsible for picking up the completed pallets of product from the production line area and placing them in the correct areas of the warehouse based on the order. The position is also responsible for hand wrapping pallets from the Shortening Line and from the Super Sacks line before placing in the warehouse. This requires the Forklift Driver to also replace supplies as needed. Finally, the Forklift Driver is responsible for charging the forklift before every break and end of shifts.

Responsibilities

Safety & Environmental Performance

• Use of horn, strobe lights, and general safety precautions to prevent injuries
• Retrain on all forklift equipment periodically or as needed
• Following all GMP policies and procedures including safety glasses, seatbelts, etc.
• Identify high-risk safety/productivity issues and help to remedy them.
• Support full plant wide compliance with safety rules to further our goal of 0 accidents and encouragement of reporting and correcting near misses.
• Encourage employees to look for ways to improve safety and production processes.
• Prevent injuries by encouraging employees to work safely

Work Requirements

• Drive forklift throughout the floor to pick up packaged pallets of product and bring them into the warehouse
• Drive the super sacks from the line to the warehouse and wrap them for storage and transportation
• Wrap the cases on a pallet from the shortening line and then drive them to the appropriate section of storage
• Pull orders to fit customer needs
• Load trucks
• Move product to create space for inventory
• Operate hand held scanner to pull customer orders

About you

• High school diploma/GED
