Job summary

Plastipak in Havre de Grace, MD is hiring a Forklift Maintenance Technician to inspect, maintain, and repair forklifts, material handling equipment, dock doors, and related facilities gear to keep operations safe and efficient.

You will keep accurate maintenance records, perform safety checks, and manage parts inventory while coordinating with service providers for quotes and timely repairs.

Hours are Mon-Fri 6:45a-3:30p with overtime as needed; the role offers a comprehensive benefits package.

Qualifications

• High School Diploma or GED required.
• Minimum 3 years of experience maintaining forklifts or material handling equipment.
• Ability to read and interpret maintenance manuals and schematics.
• Strong hydraulics, pneumatics and electrical systems knowledge.
• Ability to lift up to 75 pounds regularly.

Responsibilities

• Inspect, maintain, and repair forklifts and material handling equipment.

Job description

As a Forklift Maintenance Technician, responsibilities include inspecting, maintaining, repairing forklifts, material handling equipment, dock doors and related equipment, and other facilities maintenance equipment to ensure safe and efficient operations. This position also is responsible for tracking the material handling equipment inventory and purchasing appropriate parts.

You Will

• Perform preventative maintenance and inspections on forklifts, material handling equipment, dock doors and other facilities equipment.
• Troubleshoot and diagnose equipment malfunctions and defects, recommending and performing necessary repairs as recommended.
• Maintain accurate maintenance records, inspection reports, work orders and parts usage.
• Conduct operational and safety checks following repairs to verify proper equipment performance.
• Maintain an organized, clean, and safe forklift repair area by performing housekeeping responsibilities and maintaining 6S standards.
• interface with appropriate service providers to ensure timely and accurate quotes repair
• Maintain applicable equipment and parts inventory. Submit requisitions per policy for parts and services as needed.
• Follow all company safety procedures, LOTO requirements, etc.
• Assure compliance with all safety protocols, quality standards, operational practices & procedures
• Perform additional maintenance related duties as assigned.

You Have

• Ability to work Mon-Fri 6:45a-3:30p along with overtime, as needed
• High School Diploma, GED or equivalent
• A minimum of three (3) years of experience maintaining forklifts or other material handling equipment.
• Demonstrated experience in maintaining and/or repairing material handling equipment, industrial equipment or heavy machinery.
• Solid hydraulics, pneumatics, electrical systems and fuel systems knowledge, along with the ability to troubleshoot & problem solve
• Ability to read and interpret equipment maintenance manuals, schematics and repair procedures.
• ability to lift up to 75 pounds regularly
