Job summary

ASR Group is seeking a W&S Loading Operator/Fork Lift Operator in Chalmette, LA to manage all aspects of loading, moving, and handling products within an industrial warehouse facility.

The role requires forklift operation experience, the ability to navigate confined spaces, read shipping documents, and maintain accurate loading records. Candidates must be able to work varied shifts including weekends and holidays.

Qualifications

• Two to three years of experience driving a forklift within a warehouse.
• High school diploma or equivalent.
• Knowledge of different grades, packages and loading patterns.

Responsibilities

• Operates forklift truck equipment by means of mechanical and manual controls.
• Loads and unloads palletized loads of packaged sugar to and from warehouse locations and loading stations.
• Inspects sugar carriers (rail cars/trucks) to ensure they are acceptable to load.
• Records storage plans on loading records and informs loading crew of loading methods to minimize damage during transit.
• Counts and records sugar loaded by grade and quantity.
• Performs related clerical duties (Loading Records, Package Records, Loading Time Records).
• Reports any mechanical defects or breakdowns of equipment to foreman and returns equipment after use.
