Responsibilities:

Our Material Handling Group is seeking a full-time Forklift Field Service Technician for our Muskegon, MI branch. This is first shift, Monday to Friday, hourly (no flat rate!). The role includes a company service van (driven home), fuel card, and responsibilities such as:

• Performing preventative maintenance on customer forklifts and material handling equipment
• Diagnosing and repairing customer equipment
• Completing repairs efficiently and professionally
• Providing exceptional customer service
• Managing workloads independently
• Completing and submitting paperwork accurately
• Managing company vehicle and parts inventory
• Incorporating Alta's Guiding Principles into daily activities
• Performing other duties as assigned

Qualifications:

• Two years of forklift repair experience preferred, including military or reserve MOS/NEC codes such as 63B, 63H, 63S, etc.
• Previous field experience is highly desirable
• Strong knowledge of electric and propane units
• Excellent mechanical skills
• Own tools
• Valid driver's license and clean driving record
• Familiarity with HYPASS, Hyster TKC, and Yale/Hyster systems
• Intermediate reading, writing, and speaking skills
• Basic math skills
• Intermediate reasoning ability

Physical Demands and Work Environment:

• Regularly stand, walk, and use hands; occasionally sit, climb, kneel, or crawl
• Lift up to 10 lbs regularly, 11-25 lbs frequently, and over 26 lbs occasionally
• Work near moving mechanical parts, fumes, outdoor weather, and in various conditions
