***Forklift/Clamp Experience Required***
Equipment Operator employees must:
- Possess a valid TWIC.
- Wear safety-toe boots/shoes.
- Not use cellular phones while on duty.
- Have excellent written and verbal communication skills.
- Be able to follow verbal and written instructions.
SUMMARY OF POSITION:
Operate different sizes of forklifts and other company equipment safely to stack and retrieve supplies and materials, maintain inventory, and ensure production area organization and cleanliness.
Essential Duties and Responsibilities:
- Maintain coordination of team functions, ensuring continuous control of daily operations. Be aware of work conditions, time, service, and quality.
- Set an example in appearance, attendance, demeanor, responsibility, and dedication to the company.
- Lift, stack, un-stack, and move materials using diesel, electric, or propane-powered trucks with fork or clamp attachments.
- Ensure goods are stored in correct areas for efficient retrieval.
- Load and unload trailers, containers, boxcars, and cargo off vessels.
- Perform manual duties such as lashing and shoring cargo, attaching slings or hooks, signaling, and directing cargo movement, including supervising less experienced stevedores.
- Perform quality checks as required.
- Report unsafe situations to the supervisor.
- Ensure all team tasks are completed by the end of the shift.
- Work on miscellaneous projects as needed.
- Operate independently, exercise sound judgment, and demonstrate initiative and tact.
- Adhere to safety policies and OSHA procedures.
- Perform additional duties as assigned.
Education & Experience Requirements:
- Pass written and equipment operation forklift certification tests, covering safety procedures, inspections, storage, stability, load centers, battery inspection, and material handling.

Physical Demands/Work Environment:
- Stand, walk long distances, talk, and hear regularly.
- Use hands and arms frequently, reach.
- Occasionally sit, stoop, kneel, crouch, climb, or crawl.
- Lift/move up to 25 pounds regularly, up to 50 pounds frequently, and up to 150 pounds occasionally with assistance.
- Wear safety PPE (vest, hard hat, gloves).
- Vision abilities include close, distance, peripheral, depth perception, and focus adjustment.
- Work indoors and outdoors, in extreme weather, on slippery/uneven surfaces, around machinery and moving objects.
Work hours: 7:00 AM - 4:00 PM, weekends and holidays as needed.
