Job summary

NFI Industries is seeking a Level II Technician to perform planned and unplanned maintenance on LP and electric forklifts in our Winchester, VA facility. You will be responsible for PM services, basic repairs, and troubleshooting to keep equipment running smoothly.

The role requires hands-on mechanical skills, electrical knowledge, and the ability to read service manuals. You will work with a team, meet PM quotas, and may travel as needed.

Qualifications

• 1–2 years experience troubleshooting electric or LP equipment.
• Experience in basic repairs of electric or LP equipment.
• Experience in attachment repairs.
• Basic electrical, LP, hydraulic systems, and DVOM knowledge.
• Basic wiring schematic reading.
• Ability to read and follow service manuals.
• Good customer service skills.
• Must provide own hand tools.
• MS Office basic computer skills.
• Post high school/technical education not required but desirable.
• Excellent oral and written communication skills.
• Able to lift 75 lbs or more.
• Able to work outside in inclement weather; noise and hazards.
• Able to stand or lie down for long repairs.
• Flexible movement to reach equipment.
• Willing to travel.

Responsibilities

• Responsible for forklift (LP and electrical) Preventative Maintenance services.
• Perform Tune Up’s- adjust valves and replace spark plug and spark plug wires.
• Brake / riser adjustments.
• Inspect and repack wheel bearings.
• Inspect and water forklift batteries on a defined schedule.
• Battery removal, repairs, and installs.
• Equipment paint touch ups as required.
• Attachment pad rotations.
• Part replacements as necessary – can include horns, lights, tires, etc.
• Basic overheating trouble shooting and repair knowledge.
• Perform steering trouble shooting and repair.
• Meet a minimum of 30 Completed PM Services per month.
• Keep a minimum of a 80 - 90% productivity level.
