Job summary

MMI Engineered Solutions, Inc. in Warren, MI is seeking a Forklift Driver / Pack & Scan-production to ensure uninterrupted workflow in the molding and packing areas.

You will move finished parts, assist with setup, and maintain safety and accuracy through labeling and scanning. This role requires reliability, basic math, and teamwork. Training provided; shifts include Week1 and Week2 schedules.

Qualifications

• Minimum 2 years in a manufacturing environment operating a forklift.
• Self-starter with a history of showing initiative in getting things done and anticipating what needs to get done.
• Strong organizational skills.
• Proven communicational skills, both written and oral.
• Demonstrated ability to push, pull, lift, and carry 50 lbs.
• Ability to be trained to operate a forklift.

Responsibilities

• Assist Shift Supervisor with setup of Work Centers by bringing necessary hardware and packaging.
• Pull completed products from work centers and move to pack & scan area; ensure proper banding and disposition.
• Ensure proper labeling and scanning from Production prior to delivery to Warehouse.
• Follow processes and make recommendations for improvement.
• Review operation process to ensure continuous cost improvement.
• Interact with counterparts to ensure efficient use of people during manufacturing.

About the Role:

We are seeking a Forklift Drive/Pack & Scan-production to join our team for Facility in Warren, MI.

The primary function of the Pack & Scan-Production position is to ensure the Work Centers and Assembly Areas continue to run without interruption by bringing appropriate packaging to the molding area and moves finished parts from the molding area and places them in the Pack & Scan area.

Schedule: Shift A

Week1: Monday till Wednesday: 6am -12:15pm / Thursday & Friday: 6:00am -6:15 pm/ Saturday & Sunday: Off

Week2: Monday till Wednesday: 6:00am -12:15 pm / Thursday & Friday: Off/ Saturday &Sunday: 6:00am-6:15pm

Essential Functions:

• Work in a safe manner and follow all safety policies and procedures.


• Assisting the Shift Supervisor with setup of Work Centers/Assembly Areas by bringing all necessary hardware and packaging to the Work Centers/Assembly Areas prior to start up.


• To ensure efficiency at all Work Centers and Assembly areas by pulling completed products from work centers and move to pack & scan area where they can be properly banded and/or dispositioned in the warehouse.


• Ensuring proper labeling and scanning coming from Production prior to delivery to the Warehouse.


• Follow all processes and make recommendations for improvement.


• Review operation process to ensure continuous cost improvement.


• Interact with your counterpart working in the operations, to ensure all other positions (process engineer, material handler, operator, etc.) to ensure the efficient use of people during the manufacturing process.


• Lean Manufacturing. 5S and Workplace organization (standardized work centers) process.
  
  
  
  • As a forklift driver this position is responsible for ensuring all items moved must be put in the proper location and square to the building.

Qualifications

• A minimum of 2 years' experience within a manufacturing environment operating a forklift, utilization of scanner equipment including handling of WIP, Finished Goods and shipping responsibilities.


• A self-starter with a history of showing initiative in getting things done and anticipating what needs to get done.


• Strong organizational skills.


• Proven communicational skills, both written and oral.


• Demonstrated ability to push, pull, lift, and carry 50 lbs.


• Ability to be trained to operate a forklift.

Skills Required

• Demonstrated experience with production part retrieval/lot number verification.


• Experience with cycle counts/inventory


• History of accurately documenting (or scanning) WIP and Finished goods in/out of inventory.


• Demonstrated ability to read and understand written and verbal instructions.


• Proven ability to work with others to accomplish goals.


• Knowledge of basic mathematics and the ability to apply it in a work situation.
