Pratt Industries of Wichita is hiring for a warehouse position at our Kansas City area facility, located at 6810 Orville Ave., Kansas City, Kansas.

Starting Wage: $20.84

Job Description:

Moving various-sized units and products from different sources to the next staging area. Responsible for maintaining accurate records of unit locations, performing basic equipment maintenance, and general housekeeping. Assist with overall operations as needed. Must be Pratt forklift certified, safety-conscious, with previous Pratt or two years forklift experience preferred. Experience with warehouse management systems (barcode/scanner) is a plus. Ability to identify maintenance needs, multitask, communicate effectively, solve problems, and manage time is essential. Must be able to work in extreme temperatures and be available for weekend shifts.

Qualifications:

• High school diploma or GED
• Attention to detail to prevent damage to materials and equipment

Preferred candidates will have experience in the corrugated industry and as forklift operators.

Skills:

• Ability to read and follow factory instructions
• Proficiency with tape measures, calculating percentages, measurements, volume, and rates
• Ability to apply high school math concepts

Additional Abilities:

• Apply common sense to follow instructions and solve problems involving concrete variables

Technical Knowledge:

• Understanding of equipment design, product layouts, quality standards, and production specifications

Certifications:

• May require a current Lift Truck Operator License

Physical Demands:

Regularly standing, walking, talking, hearing; frequently handling objects, reaching, stooping, kneeling, crouching, crawling; occasionally sitting. Must lift/move up to 50 pounds. Vision requirements include close, distance, color, peripheral, depth perception, and focus adjustment.

Work Environment:

Exposure to moving mechanical parts, humid conditions, high places, fumes, airborne particles, vibration; loud noise levels.
