Job summary

Grede in New Castle, Indiana is seeking a forklift driver to support production, moving materials, loading trucks, and keeping work areas safe and organized.

You will operate a forklift, transport materials, stock production lines, inspect equipment, and follow safety procedures. Up to three months' experience preferred; reading/writing and basic math required.

Responsibilities

• Operate forklift to move raw materials, finished goods, containers, and supplies to appropriate areas.
• Load and unload trucks, trailers, racks, and containers as required.
• Transport materials to and from production areas, storage locations, and shipping docks.
• Supply production lines with required materials in a timely manner.
• Remove finished product and transport to designated storage or staging areas.
• Inspect forklift prior to use and report any safety or maintenance concerns.
• Follow all established safety procedures, including proper use of PPE.
• Complete material movement tickets and related paperwork accurately.
• Ensure the good quality and condition of materials being handled.
• Maintain work area in a clean and orderly manner.

The Forklift Driver will perform a variety of duties to assist in production areas including operating a forklift to move materials into the appropriate locations. Perform all tasks with safety and quality in mind and in accordance with established procedures and process instructions. Take necessary action to minimize delay time and maximize production.

What You’ll Do:

• Operate forklift to move raw materials, finished goods, containers, and supplies to appropriate areas.
